You may be surprised to hear that OSHA does not certify workers, meaning there’s actually no such thing as an OSHA certification. Instead, OSHA requires employers to train their employees in the specific safety and health aspects of their jobs.

The closest thing to OSHA certification is attend training at DSoS, as passing our exam results in an official Department of Labor OSHA card.

This course is for entry-level employees doing construction work. Examples of construction jobs include carpenters, electricians, laborers, masons, plumbers, sheet metal workers, tile workers, and welders.

The 30-hour class is more appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility.  OSHA 30 course are programs designed to introduce workers to their basic rights and protections under OSHA and give them initial awareness training on common safety topics for their industry. OSHA 30 do not fulfill an employer’s safety training obligations by themselves.

You can take the OSHA 30 hour courses one of two different ways; First, you can have an OSHA-DSoS Trainer come to your site and teach the class for your group. Or you can attend DSoS facility and receive OSHA 30-training courses conducted in a classroom setting (usually spread over four consecutive days).

Each student attending one of OSHA 30 hour training classes will receive their own copy of the OSHA standards for either general industry (CFR 1910) or construction (CFR 1926) as part of their course materials. In addition to covering Federal OSHA regulations, our OSHA-authorized 30 hour instructors also address state-specific OSHA requirements, where applicable. Students taking the OSHA 30 hour course for either construction or general industry can download and print out a free PDF study guide to use.
